BISHKEK. April 11 (Interfax) - A state commission has been set up
in Kyrgyzstan to investigate the reasons behind the recent change of
power in the country.
"The commission was established on orders from the republic's
interim President Kurmanbek Bakiyev," acting Deputy Prime Minister
Daniyar Usenov told Interfax on Monday.
"The commission comprises representatives of the government,
parliament and the civil sector - five people representing each side.
The republic's Security Council Secretary Miroslav Niyazov has taken the
helm of the commission," Usenov said.
"The commission will have to investigate all the circumstances
surrounding the events of March 24, which resulted in a change of power
in the republic," he said.
Another commission has been created "to support businessmen whose
property was damaged during the disturbances in Bishkek on the night of
March 25," Usenov said.
More than 100 shops were damaged during the rioting in Bishkek.
